An American Muslim sued the US government and the FBI for violating his constitutional rights

An American Muslim sued the US government and the FBI for violating his constitutional rights by tracking all his movements with a GPD device hidden in his car, Reuters reported Thursday.

According to details, Yasir Afifi, 20, who is the resident of California and a student of Santa Clara, was alerted to a tracking device by a mechanic in October, 2010, when he took his car for oil change.

Yasir Afifi told that he was confronted by FBI agents after removing the GPS device from his car.

The law suit accused the Justice Department and FBI of violating his constitutional rights by conducting searches without a warrant, tracking his movements and bounding his freedom of speech and association.

Meanwhile, the Justice Department spokesman said that FBI is reviewing the law suit and declined further comments.

American, FBI has been criticized by civil fliberties groups over it's survillence tactics against Muslims.
