Reuters Nokia’s Symbian that Nokia’s Symbian is no more a number one smartphone platform in the world because Google’s Android has taken the top Spot.

In the fourth quarter, phone makers sold 32.9 million Android-equipped phones globally, roughly seven times more than the year-earlier quarter, compared with Symbian’s sales of 31 million, according to Research firm Canalys.

It is no more a great surprise that the free, multi-operating system is shipping more units then a single hardware manufacturer. So the start of the new era for Nokia comes up with the big competition with the Google Android.

Android goes on top when they come up with the new device Samsung Galaxy S in 2011 which hits the market positively. And every new update in OS comes up with the new features, more tones that polish their services. Google claims that more than 300,000 are being devices activated on daily basis this shows the strength of their device and the future growth.

Folks are that Nokia have not had it quite so good. Google have launched Android 2 years back and got top rank in market share where as Nokia slump from almost 50% to less than 31%.

Along with the new Chief Executive Stephen Elop at the helm, and the farmer Swedish giants will be hoping to move in right direction sooner rather then later. Probably include the use of Android on its handsets? That is the rumor which is revolving around the web on different blogs and article sites. Nokia need more up to date OS to fill its deficiency and where as Google is strengthened with every new release.
