Eden Gardens not yet ready for holding any international match venue would lose the scheduled world cup match on 27th February 2011 India vs England

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has informed the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) that in spite of extensions of deadline, the Eden Gardens has not yet been made ready for holding any international match. Obviously, the venue would lose the scheduled world cup match on 27th February 2011 between India and England.

Given the present state of affairs, the likelihood of it being ready in time is remote. Therefore, the cricket fraternity of Kolkata can only cry in despair and curse their luck that even an international cricket match cannot be organized in time by the concerned authorities. Will nothing go right for Kolkata? Is this another fallout of politicians?

It is sad that Eden Gardens, the pride of not just Kolkata but the whole country would not be able to host the cricket world cup match between India and England scheduled for 27th February 2011 because those involved in preparing the venue were not serious enough.
