Dear viewers, watch the exclusive photos attached with this report. Veteran actor Shammi Kapoor died at 79 at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai at 5:15am on August 14. According to doctors, kidney failure was the main cause behind his death. The Bollywood industry and several Indian industrialists came to bid Shammi the final good bye.
Shammi Kapoor was born on October 21, 1931. His debut film was “Jeevan Jyoti” (1953). The film and some other films did not do well at the box office. After several flops Shammi made a complete make-over on his image and appeared in a new avatar in “Tumsa Nahin Dekha”. The film got huge success in the box office. Shammi was the first Indian actor who brought the western rock-n-roll style in Bollywood. His films “Junglee”, “Dil Deke Dekho”, “Professor”, “China Town”, “Teesri Manzil”, “Rajkumar”, “Kashmir Ki Kali”, “Janwar”, “An Evening in Paris”, “Bramhachari” and many more got huge success in box office.
As an established actor Shammi always helped the new comer actresses to taste the ladder of success. For examples, Saira Banu’s debut film “Junglee”, a super-duper hit was with Shammi Kapoor. Sharmila Tagore also debuted her film career in Hindi movies with Shammi Kapoor in the film “Kashmir Ki Kali”. The jugalbandi of Shammi Kapoor and Md. Rafi is immortal. According to me and crores of Indians, both were born for each other. “Chahe Koyee mujhe Jungle Kahe”, “Ehsan Tera Hoga”, “Deewana Mujhsa Nahin”, “Tum Mujhe Yun Bhula”, “Aaja Aaja Main Hu Pyar Tera”, “O Hasina Julfon Wali”, “Tareef Karoon Kya Uski” are just few hits of hundreds of super-hit songs in which Rafi saab lent his voice for Shammi Kapoo
