Woman misleads police against in - laws

In an attempt to get even with her in-laws, with whom she had some disagreement, a woman concocted a story about robbery in broad daylight by an armed woman and a few men. She even approached the police with this story, which was later found to be untrue.

The cops are contemplating action against the woman for misleading them. The woman claimed that the goons snatched cash to the tune of Rs 2.5 lacs, which she claimed to have withdrawn from the Khalsa College Branch of Punjab and Sind Bank on Tuesday.

The woman claimed that she was taking this money to her father in a bag when the culprits stopped her near Joshi Colony, Mall Road. The cops initiated action immediately after she approached them and installed check posts all over the city to catch the culprits who had robbed the woman.

However, an interaction with the staff of the bank from where the woman claimed to have had withdrawn money from the account of Hira Chaudhary said that no transaction of any kind had taken place from that account that day. Later, the facts became clearer when the woman's father informed the police that his daughter had some misunderstanding with her in-laws.
