As I've been holding up my end of the bargain lately - about 3 posts per week since I returned in late November - I thought I would let you know of an upcoming dry spell for the blog. I am on business travel the next nine days, supporting a function in Columbus, Mississippi where my employer has an engine plant. Its one of those business trips where twelve hour days will be the norm, so I will have precious little time to perform the research that fuels my blog. Luckily, the domestic leagues are on international break for the week, so their won't be a need to turn around an insta-analysis of Arsenal's latest meltdown.
I have a couple of posts lined up that should get us through most of my trip, the first of which appeared yesterday morning and generated the best single day of viewership in my blog's short history. I had plenty of time to read on my way to Mississippi, so posting the weekly Friday Night Links will not be a problem. Early next week I'll follow up with Part 2 of my two-post series on squad transfer costs and EPL success - that post will focus on the teams and managers that have under and over performed versus their transfer budgets. After that post all bets are off as my research and writing will have dried up.
On a side note, I will be getting to spend the weekend in the wonderful town of Memphis, Tennessee. If you're a music lover or a BBQ lover, that is the place to go. I'll get about 36 hours in the city, so I'll have to see how much fun I can cram in. If any readers have suggestions, I am all ears. One place I am sure to hit up is Graceland, home to the Elvis Presley. I don't know when I'll ever make it to Memphis again, and since the company's paying I might as well make a pilgrimage to the home of the man who helped put my favorite musical art form on the map. Even if the first image that pops into my head is a bloated, drug-fueled, leisure suit sequined shadow of his former self.
