Nokia's Research Center in Helsinki
Nokia will sell the business for an undisclosed sum to the Finnish software Digia who inherit research centers in Oslo and in Silicon Valley, says in a statement.
Qt technology, acquired by Nokia during the takeover of Norwegian Trolltech for 100 million euros in 2008, is notably used by Nokia as a means to program applications for its two operating systems for smartphones of Nokia, Symbian and MeeGo .
The Finnish giant announced last month an alliance with Microsoft that the key measure is the arrival of Finnish mobile operating system of the U.S., Windows phone, at the expense of Symbian and MeeGo.
"I think this fits very well within our new strategy to focus on our core business, "he told AFP Mark Durrant, a spokesman for Nokia.
