Beach umbrellas are seen on the Pacific ocean coast of Lima after a tsunami warning was issued
Alaska areas have been issued a tsunami warning after a significant 7.4 earthquake hit near the Aleutian Islands on Thursday, according to CNN News.
Coastal communities with which the warnings are concerning are from Unimak Pass to Amchitka Pass which covers a 155 mile span. Dutch Harbor and Adak are the neighboring areas involved.
According to reports a full on Pacific coast tsunami is not expected as per the Tsunami Warning Center.
People are being warned and urged to get and remain on higher ground according to Paul Huang of the Alaska Tsunami Warning Center.
