The government will take appropriate action against any group of hackers, including those who called themselves as 'anonymous'.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said, for this purpose, the government ordered the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to investigate in detail the identity and location of the hacker.
At the same time, he said, investigations were also made to examine the extent to which these cyber attacks pose a threat to national security to allow all necessary steps be taken immediately.
"We take this very seriously because it can greatly affect the way the government especially in terms of its information technology systems. I received information that there are many government websites are hacked.
"We will wait for a report on how the problem to be addressed and we hope these actions will not be done continuously. Whatever we monitor these things, "he told reporters here today.
He said this when asked to comment on the cyber attacks on dozens of government web sites starting at 3:30 this morning, causing the operation of the website is not accessible.
The attack was launched by the group 'anonymous' response to the government imposes strict restrictions on the Internet, film and broadcast television.
Elaborating, he said the action taken by Commission on alternative media who use the Internet only on the statement in the form of suggestions that it could threaten national security.
